Legs
Legs? Some of these creatures don’t even have any, but they helped me find mine.
The following stories and poeticals (my word for poems) are by way of thank you.
Birds fly us here and there between meeting members of my ‘Milk Family’.
A Druid* introduced me to the phrase ‘Milk Family’ one Monday, over tea. Milk Family are the kin who nourish you, more than often of the non-human kind.
Contrast with blood relations whose gifts regularly seem to come as wounds… Yet relatives, friends and enemies, we all make home in the only place we can: here.
Welcome to the circus and farm where Legs from the Dregs was conceived.
With us is one other two-legged. Long on dry humour, short on waffle. He embodies the best characteristics of a goat, ‘though his flocks are sheep. Aloof. Curious. Sure-footed. Virile. Intelligent. Independent. Fiercely independent.
The goat is a necessary character - albeit a bit fearsome like most farmers. He will keep us going steady. And not-so-subtly or successfully attempt to keep my feet on the ground.
